Bring the family and step back into time as you experience a Victorian Christmas at the Harper House.
The festivities begin earlier for the little ones from 4:00-5:30. Children can pose with characters inspired from Charles Dickens' literary classic, "A Christmas Carol". There will be a free Victorian toy for the first 50 children as well as hot cocoa, cider, and cookies. Children are also invited to play Victorian-themed games.
At 6:00, the doors will open to Mr. Fezziwig's Annual Christmas Ball, held in the historic Lyerly House. Fully immerse yourself in the experience by dressing the part if you'd like and learn some traditional Victorian dances to live music. Adults will enjoy two free cocktails provided by Foothills Distillery with admission.
You'll marvel at the opulent Christmas displays in the Harper House as you tour "the finest Queen Anne interior styling in the entire state" according to the North Carolina Department of Archives. The tour is included in the ticket price. Watch the story of "The Christmas Carol" unfold while touring the rooms and halls of the Harper House.
